SCHOOL
– THE ESSENCE OF LIFE

Martin Klema studied the production of hand-made guitars at the Violin School
in Luby u Chebu. Many instrument makers often end up here after working in other
professions. In this West Bohemian town, the production of violins has held its
reputation of making high-quality, hand-made instruments and the traditions of
the manufacturers here have been passed on from one generation to other.

ON HIS OWN

In school, Martin Klema learned everything
he needed to know about “making a new guitar from a
single tree trunk”! While Martin appreciated these
fundamentals, he also realized that the technology
and procedures used 70 years ago may not be practical
today. Therefore, he decided he must build on the
skills he has acquired by implementing innovative
ideas of his own.

GUITAR PRODUCTION IN PRACTICE

Martin’s work is his passion; so he considers improvement of his skills and knowledge to be an adventure, rather than an annoying obligation. When immersed in his thoughts, Martin will focus on any problem he faces, and he will create a solution based on intense research. Since he has been making guitars professionally for many years, he was forced to establish his own work system which enabled him to make more instruments in a shorter period of time. However, none of the procedures discovered and implemented by Martin reduced the quality of his product! Instead, his new system led to higher productivity and better quality! Whether it is a hand-made guitar or a factory made instrument, the KLEMA name means excellence; and there is zero tolerance for any defects!

MADE WITHOUT EMOTIONS - ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT

In addition to innovative design and procedure, Martin Klema’s passion shows in his guitars. It is not easy to explain with mere words the possibility that an instrument can possess an emotion: happiness, anger, passion and all other feelings of the heart. However, a true guitar lover understands this expression! If you have owned several guitars you know how it feels when you play an instrument made without any emotion. Unfortunately, many stores are full of these instruments.

NO COMPROMISE FOR QUALITY

The motivating force for Klema is our high standard of quality, and the
positive responses from our customers. Whether you select a solid wood piece
from the exquisite Black Line Series or one from the user-friendly White Line
Series, the quality you will find is only limited by the cost of wood used
and the time it takes to make them. The dedication to quality control
remains the same for both lines. And that is why the Klema name is the
crown on all of our instruments.
